WR Roddy White: ATL WR Still Holding Out by Adam Caplan of ScoutNFLNetwork.com, August 3, 2009 at 6:15pm ET
Roddy White Profile
Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White missed a third straight training camp
practice on Monday and remains on the team's Reserve/Did Not Report list.
White, who is on the final year of his rookie contract, is coming off of a
career-high 88 receptions a year ago, and is believed to be seeking a contract
extension.
While it's not known what amount White is seeking, some league observers believe
White wants at least as much if not more than the three-year, $26.25 million
extension that Green Bay Packers WR Greg Jennings signed in June. That
deal averages $8.75 million per season. Jennings became the fifth highest paid
receiver in the NFL on an average per year basis. According to a league source,
Carolina Panthers WR Steve Smith, who had his contract adjusted back in
late February, is the highest paid receiver in the league on an average per year
basis at $10.9 million. Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald is second
at $10 million.
